A 19-year-old woman has been detained under the Mental Health Act after standing on the edge of a bridge over the busy A34 near Kennington.
Police shut the road in both directions from about 7pm on Tuesday during the 45-minute incident on the Bagley Wood bridge. Police negotiators were called before the woman, from Abingdon, climbed back over the railings, a spokesman said.
