I LIVE in the Rewley Road development and frequently have seen people having difficulty when crossing the wooden bridge that leads to the canal whenever it is rainy or snowy.
Yesterday, after the rain, it was my turn!
The wooden logs that form the bridge became very slippery and I could not prevent myself from falling, injuring my wrist and knee.
I was in the Radcliffe Hospital all day, because I had a double wrist fracture due to my fall.
The wooden bridge I am talking about has some type of mould between the fibres of the logs, especially on the sides, so that when wet it becomes very slippery.
Oxford City Council should clean the logs very well and then cover them with some non-slippery surface.
I think it is time for the city council to do something to improve the conditions of the bridge.
I will write to the city council as well.
