THE A34 is shut both ways between Marcham Road and Hinksey Hill tonight following a traffic incident.
It is not yet known the nature or extent of the incident but Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue Service says it has not sent any staff to the incident.
The Highways Agency says it is hoping to open the road at 8.30pm.
An official diversion has not yet been put in place, according to traffic reports.
An update will be posted on oxfordmail.co.uk as soon as it is available.
