OXFORD: Researchers at Oxford University have produced a genetic map of the British people.
They used the latest analysis techniques to look at how people’s DNA sequence varied at 600,000 different sites.
They then grouped people together according to how much they showed small variations in their DNA sequence and plotted them on a map.
On the genetic map, Cornish people clustered separately from those from Devon, while the Scottish and Irish tended to share the same DNA markers.
