AN OPEN-top Buick gave a touch of American glamour to the Larkmead School prom.
The classic car, complete with Californian number plate, was selected by friends Chloe Lyford, Tom Baldwin, Kelsie Maxwell, Jess Mills McGowan and Georgina Harper to take them to their party at Kingston Bagpuize.
The school held its prom at the Fallowfields Country House Hotel on Thursday.
Chloe Lyford, 16, from Abingdon, said everyone enjoyed a sit-down meal before a disco. She said: “It is a relief to have finally finished my exams.
“I have just started my hairdressing apprenticeship now, it’s really good.”
Georgina Harper, is about to start a course in public services at Abingdon and Witney College.
She said: “It’s not the end of our time together as I will still see all my friends.
“The prom was good.
“There was a best dress competition which my friend Lauren Cann won.”
