A TEENAGER who went on a “rampage of crime” has been jailed for two years and three months.
Anthony Shirley, 19, of no fixed address, appeared at Oxford Crown Court yesterday for sentence on 10 charges, ranging from theft of a pedal cycle to possession of cannabis.
He also asked for a further 80 offences to be taken into account, most of them taking place in the Blackbird Leys area of Oxford.
They ranged from thefts from and of motor vehicles to burglaries, and took place between March 2011 and April 2012, when he was eventually remanded in custody.
Recorder Antonio Bueno said the scale of Shirley’s lawbreaking was “almost unimaginable”.
Most of the incidents were committed while on bail, and also breached a conditional discharge imposed in January for shoplifting.
Mr Bueno said: “To use an apt but colourful term, you have been on a rampage of crime.
“The scale on which you were involved with criminal activity while on bail beggars belief.”
No separate penalty was awarded for the 80 additional offences.
