So John Tanner (ViewPoints, June 19) is happy to decry the disaster of the half baked Cogges Link Road but then announces his own harebrained scheme to prioritise bus, cycle and pedestrian traffic in Witney.
I can’t think of a better way to create gridlock than by downgrading priority for the cars, vans and lorries that must make up a far greater proportion of the traffic flow.
I wonder how much money he would waste on such a venture?
He also wants to use the freed-up millions from the Cogges Link Road to fund road schemes across Oxfordshire. What’s wrong with using the money for Witney’s benefit?
If he thinks his schemes will win support for Labour he’s sadly mistaken. He has certainly lost mine.
