IT’S JUST miserable out there, isn’t it? We British are famous for moaning about the weather, half the time complaining the temperature in the back garden in Marston isn’t the same as the Med.

But to be fair this summer has been woeful and, as we report today, it is going to last for a good couple more weeks yet.

Remember those few scorching days at the end of March, which everyone seized upon as hopefully sign of a sizzling summer?

It was all just a tease, with hardly three successive days worthy of being labelled spring or summer since.

The real worry though is looming in the third week of July: the school holidays.

Every parent who has a child to entertain will be dreading a continuation of this weather. Plonking the children in front of the synchronised swimming for the Olympics is hardly going to cut it.

But can it really get any worse? Don’t answer that.
