House prices in the county have risen to their highest level for almost four years.
Latest figures from the Government’s Land Registry show the average cost of a home was £241,290 in May, up 0.8 per cent on the previous month.
The last time prices were as high was in August 2008 when it was £241,334.
Overall, prices have risen by 1.9 per cent for the year to date and have gone up consistently for the last five months.
Nationally, the average price of a property is £161,677, up 0.5 per cent on the previous month.
