Teacher tells pupils of Olympic hopes
OLYMPIC rower Caroline O’Connor told pupils at her Oxford school about her hopes for the London Games yesterday.
The rowing cox spoke about issues including how she got into the sport, her idols and her hopes for the women’s team at next month’s Games.
The Oxford Academy science teacher said of her pupils : “It makes me proud that they are able to hold their own and ask professional questions.”
The 29-year-old, a teacher at the school for four years, will soon head to Germany for three weeks of intensive training ahead of her first London event on July 29.
She said: “It is about making sure we are focused on what makes the boat go faster – we will be training hard.”
