FOR these actors, all of Cumnor is a stage. They are putting on a new play on William Shakespeare’s life to raise money for charity.

The Cumnor Players are performing The Darke Years, which tells of the mysterious seven-year gap between the playwright’s life as a teacher and the production of his first play.

Jacqui Lewis, who plays Shakespeare’s wife Anne, said: “It has got comedy, tragedy and everything a Shakespeare play would have.

“It is written in Shakepearian language as well and we have tried to keep the feel of it.”

Proceeds will go towards the Parasol Project which promotes inclusivity between disabled and non-disabled children.

The play is being staged tomorrow and Saturday at The Closes Field in Appleton Road. For details visit cumnorplayers.org.uk
