Sir – I am happy to reassure people that the Catholic mass to bury the nine bodies from the abbey archaeological dig here in Eynsham on June 23 is, as with all our events, open to anyone who wants to come, of any religion or none (Letters, May 3 and 10). Eynsham has a proud record of co-operation between all its Christian churches going back some 60 years, including a monthly magazine Roundabout. We are just finishing our collection for Christian Aid Week and are planning a joint event on Bank Holiday Monday evening as we light our jubilee beacon.

The fact that we have our own style of worship in each of our churches does not stop us working and praying together on many occasions. We are always happy to share our faith in Jesus Christ, bringing people to eternal life with anyone who wants to join us.

Fr Martin Flatman, St Peter’s Catholic Church, Eynsham
