THE trial of four men accused of multi-million pound fraud involving an Oxfordshire business has been postponed.

Nigel Horn, Christopher Moore, Robert Loosemore and Mark Woodbridge all deny a total of eight offences involving Torex Retail PLC.

The company, which was based in Witney, went into administration in 2007.

The quartet’s trial had been set to begin in September but a two-day pre-trial review at Oxford Crown Court this week resulted in the date slipping to March 2013.

All four are accused of conspiracy to defraud shareholders over a £5.3m sum shown on accounts between November 2006 and January 2007.

Former group accountant Woodbridge, 41, from Kineton, Warwickshire, is charged with three counts of false accounting involving sums of £750,000, £549,750 and £1,999,750 in 2006.

In addition, Woodbridge is jointly charged with former chairman Loosemore, 46, of Clearwater Place, North Oxford, and Moore, 57, of Hayway Lane, Hook Norton, of three counts of false accounting and one of conspiracy to defraud.

The prosecution has been brought by the Serious Fraud Office.

All four men are on bail.
