Michael Esnouf, of Abingdon Vale, won two medals at the South East Regional Youth Championships.

Esnouf, 15, finished second in the 100m breaststroke, setting an age group club record, and was third in the 50m breaststroke.

He was also fourth in the 200m individual medley.

Niall O’Leary claimed a bronze medal in the 200m backstroke.

Ollie Baboolal, Alice Flet-cher-Etherington, Josh Harrop, Elliot Rennie, Millie Royal and Nick Whitehead were the other Abingdon swimmers to take part.

Kidlington & Gosford took a young team to Witney for their Sportsman Trophy Gala. Tia Hussain received the swimmer-of-the-match award after a fine performance, which saw the team finish third overall.

Gregory Northwood (25m freestyle), Edward Crisp (25m butterfly) and Isla Rivers (50m freestyle) all recorded victories.

The win for Rivers was all the more pleasing as she was competing in her first gala, along with Hussain, Aaron Weston, Laura Scaife and Amy Wag-horn.
