A MOTORCYCLIST was airlifted to Oxford’s John Radcliffe Hospital with suspected neck and pelvic injuries after a crash which closed the A34 for more than an hour yesterday.
The man was injured when his bike collided with a car at about 11.50am on the southbound carriageway between the Milton interchange and the Marcham interchange, shortly after an accident on the other side of the road.
Police are looking into whether the accident was caused by drivers being distracted by the first incident.
The collision on the northbound carriageway involved three cars – a silver Vauxhall Zafira, a green Rover saloon and a black Ford Fiesta – and happened at about 11.35am close to the bridge over the B4017. All of the motorists involved in this crash suffered only minor injuries.
Both carriageways were closed for a time to allow the air ambulance helicopter to land.
Witnesses should call Thames Valley Police on 101.
