Ian Hudspeth, 52, who represents Woodstock, lives in Bladon, is married and has a daughter who has just left the Marlborough School.
His political biography states that he used to enjoy playing golf before becoming involved in politics and still watches Oxford United play.
He was elected to the county council in 2005, became cabinet member for transport in 2007 and then member for growth and infrastructure in 2009.
Mr Hudspeth has also served on West Oxfordshire District Council since 2002 and was a cabinet member between 2003 and 2006.
He pledges to avoid duplication with other authorities, give more power to local councillors and to lower taxes.
