YOU recall (Oxford Mail, April 4) the occasion on which Keith Mitchell famously referred to protesting students as “oiks”.
It is, I suppose, possible the description was intended as a compliment; certainly the students are in distinguished Conservative company.
Wasn’t “Oik” the name given to Chancellor George Osborne by his friends in the Bullingdon Club?
