YOUNG Mitchell Blackman got to grips with a Harris Hawk at a birds of prey demonstration yesterday.
The eight-year-old volunteered to take part in the show at the Cotswold Wildlife Park near Burford.
Mum Louise Blackman, 30, from Calne in Wiltshire, said the family had a great day out and Mitchell had been happy to take part in the display.
She said: “He thought it was really great. He has never done anything like that before.”
Mitchell added: “It was very exciting.
“But it was a bit scary, because it was really big.”
The display was put on by the Cotswold Falconry team, who staged other shows over the Easter Weekend.
Other birds in the display included owls, falcons, eagles and vultures.
