Top talent from across the world descends on the city as part of the Oxford Mail-backed Oxford Jazz Festival.
Double bass player Giazonne Reyes, from Botley, will join in the open jam session tonight.
He said: “I’m looking forward to it – it’s going to be really exciting. There’s quite a few really good acts this year.
“There’s a guy called Michael Janisch who is bringing a band across from New York and I’m hoping he will make it over to one of the jams.
“There’s another guy called Theo Jackson who is one to really watch – he’s playing with award-winning saxophonist Nathan Facey at Copa in George Street tomorrow.”
