OXON: Police have made an appeal for witnesses to a crash on the M40 motorway, which left a man fighting for his life.

At about 8.30pm on Monday, a white Vauxhall Astra van overturned on the northbound carriageway, between junctions 8A and 9, and ended up on its roof.

The driver, a 26-year-old man from the West Midlands, was taken to the John Radcliffe Hospital, where he remains in a serious condition.

Police did not release details until yesterday.
