As an Oxford United season-ticket holder and regular reader of the Oxford Mail, I’m writing to express my disappointment at your page 2 picture and headline in Monday’s edition.
The headline ‘Trouble sours derby win’ printed below a group of supporters would indicate that these were the troublemakers, when in fact they were jubilant supporters, gathered after the game enjoying the moment.
I should know because my husband and I were among them and they most certainly were not intent on causing trouble.
Yes, there was trouble elsewhere and this should be reported but please, this report should not have run alongside a picture of well-behaved fans.
We have waited 38 years for this, so a small group of troublemakers won’t sour anything for Oxford United fans.
