THE village of South Hinksey has been sealed off after a burst water main.
Residents have been evacuated and others are trapped in their homes after the pipe burst at 6.55am today.
At least six fire engines, Thames Water staff and police are at the scene and blocking anyone from entering the village.
A number of homes have been flooded and the water is affecting an area of about a square mile.
Carole Hawkins, of John Piers Lane, South Hinksey, said she was trapped in her home.
She said: "There is water in the garden.
"Hopefully it won’t make it to the house because this would be the third or fourth time I’d have been flooded.
"At the moment I can’t get out."
