A NEW automated recording system was used for the first time at Oxford Crown Court yesterday.
The system replaces the traditional human ‘logger’ who would sit in court and operate a cassette system.
The Ministry of Justice is rolling out the automated system at all crown courts to save money. Recordings in court will now be saved to a computer hard-drive.
