FORMER boxer Paul Jackson says the Oxford Mail Loyalty Club card is packing a punch with customers buying meat at a cash-and-carry.

A new brochure, filled with valuable discounts, has been produced for card holders and is being sent out with new cards, which are being issued for 2012.

There are about 7,000 members of the Loyalty Club, who are eligible for membership after signing up to have the Oxford Mail delivered to their homes. The brochure contains a range of discounts from about 100 businesses, including the Meatmaster cash-and-carry owned by Aldens in Osney Mead, Oxford.

Meatmaster shop manager Mr Jackson said: “I used to be known as the boxing butcher and finished up as a middleweight in the 1980s. The loyalty card is popular with customers and is bringing people into the shop.”

Oxford Mail promotions manager Jo Coady said: “Loyalty card holders can save a lot of money using our new brochure which features offers from a wide range of businesses. You can take your card to any of the places featured in the brochure and claim your discount. Offers range from 20 per cent off to buy one get one free.”
