THE Brasserie Gerard restaurant in George Street, Oxford, has been put on the market after its owner, Paramount Restaurants, went into administration in November.

Agent Fleurets is inviting offers for the leasehold of the eaterie, which has 70 covers, plus three rental flats in the property owned by Oxford City Council.

The restaurant closed after the parent company went into administration.

Eight of the London sites were bought by Brasserie Blanc, the chain fronted by Oxfordshire-based celebrity chief Raymond Blanc but administrators said there had been little interest in the Oxford site.

Chez Gerard in Henley is also on the market.
