The Rotunda, at Grove House, Iffley, is hosting a performance at 8pm on Tuesday (drinks/crepes from 7pm) of Caroline Horton’s one-woman show You’re Not Like the Other Girls Chrissy, which won her the Best Solo Performance award at the 2010 Edinburgh Fringe.

A stimulating hour of theatre is promised. Polly McLean, the owner of the venue, explained: “It’s the tale of Caroline’s eccentric French grandmother, Christiane, and her love affair with Cyril, a tongue-tied English teacher from Staffordshire. Their story takes us to cosmopolitan 1930s Paris, before war interrupts their unlikely romance. It’s a fond and comic portrayal of one woman’s experience of love and war that would warm the hardest of hearts.

“When I went to Edinburgh Festival in 2010, scouting for shows, it was the one I felt determined to bring to the Rotunda. It’s a perfect fit for the venue and highly recommended.”

There is also a performance of the piece at the Mill Arts Centre, Banbury, on February 28 at 7.30pm (01295 279002 www.themillartscentre.co.uk).
