Does no one say please or thank you anymore? I regularly go to Oxford and shop. I hold doors open, stand back to let people through doors or let them pass on a pavement. Do they say thank you? NO!
They look me up and down like something the cat dragged in and carry on their way, oblivious of every thing but the task they have in hand!
I was brought up at a time when to say please and thank you was considered good manners. JENNIFER HOLLOWAY, Yarnells Road, North Hinksey
