OXFORD: Stephen Brown is to stand down as leader of Oxford City Council’s Liberal Democrats.
The Lib Dem group leader said he would not be contesting Carfax, the ward he has represented since 2008, in the May local elections.
He said he was leaving local government at the age of 59 for personal and not political reasons.
Mr Brown plans to continue to serve as group leader until May.
