Sir – There are going to be lots of people this Christmas who will be disappointed that they have not received Christmas cards from friends and relatives.

I know this because I have been getting their Christmas cards, Christmas cards addressed to people I have never heard of, and with no return address, either on the envelopes or on the cards. I realise that it is too late for this year, but I would urge everyone to ensure that they put a return address on cards and parcels so that they can be returned to the sender. That way they will, at the very least, know that the address they used was wrong.
