OXFORDSHIRE'S ambulance service has been recognised for having the best response times in England.
South Central Ambulance Service NHS Trust won the Ambulance Trust of the Year award at the 2011 Health Business Awards ceremony this month.
Latest figures for the week beginning December 5, show the trust got to 72.5 per cent of the most serious calls in eight minutes against a national target of 75 per cent.
It was also praised for the proportion of patients it was able to treat at the scene instead of taken them to hospital, 42.5 per cent.
Trust chief executive Will Hancock said: βIt is a testament to all the hard work of our staff and partners and their commitment to continually strive to improve patient care.β
