A MUM is calling for help to stage a gala night next August for the Oxford hospital unit which cared for her seriously ill newborn daughter.
Lara Collen, of Chinnor, is seeking donations, raffle prizes and sponsorship to put on the bash at the Oxford Belfry Hotel.
She hopes the event will raise up to £5,000 for the Support for the Sick Newborn And their Parents (SSNAP) charity. It provides extra equipment for the neonatal unit at the John Radcliffe Hospital, which cared for daughter Emily after her birth in 2007.
The youngster was born with clot-forming cells. The condition was detected within 12 hours and a full transfusion carried out after 17 hours.
Lara said: “SSNAP have been fantastic.”
