PLANS for a five-storey block of nine flats in Park End Street, Oxford, are to be reconsidered over concerns it does not provide enough affordable housing.

Oxford City Council’s planning review committee will meet next Thursday to look at the plan, approved by the council’s west area planning committee on December 8.

The scheme is to demolish Cantay House, behind Conference Centre Oxford.

But 12 councillors “called in” the plan to be re-examined, saying it should provide 10 flats, which would trigger a legal requirement to make flats affordable.

The committee will meet at 6pm in the Town Hall. The public can attend.
