Racing car exhaust designer Primary Designs has motored into new premises in Thame.

The firm, which supplies exhausts to Formula 1, Le Mans competitors and other racing tems, has taken a 4,923 sq ft unit at Thame Business Park (pictured).

It has relocated from Station Yard in the town after outgrowing its old building with its workforce expanding from 12 to 16 in the last year.

Pat Barrett, managing director at Primary Designs, said: “We have outgrown our current facility due to the demands of modern F1 teams and investment in new technology just is not possible without making the move to new and larger premises.

“Our relocation enables us to have a much improved workflow, and a greater focus on quality and customer services.

“The whole strategy behind our larger premises is based around improved production facilities, quality systems and customer satisfaction as well as the development of our new supercar range of exhausts for the likes of Ferrari and Lamborghini.”

A new 12-year lease has been signed at a rent of £6.50 per sq ft.

Duncan May, Oxford-based associate director at agent Lambert Smith Hampton, added: “It is a vote of confidence for Thame and the wider Oxfordshire industrial market that a successful occupier is expanding its operations.

“This area of Oxfordshire is home to a large number of motorsport teams and suppliers, and Thame Park Business Centre was chosen, in part, because of its proximity to this ‘Motorsport Valley’.”
