BADVENT brings you day eight suspect Daniel Durham, a man who the police want to quiz about criminal damage and booze thefts in the city centre.

If you know where the 25-year-old from Iffley Road is they want to hear from you.

At 7.45am on Saturday, August 13, a man went into the Co-op store in Templars Square, Cowley, and stole four bottles of Courvoisier cognac and two bottles of Jack Daniels.

He returned to the same shop 15 minutes later and tried to steal two more bottles of cognac and one bottle of Jack Daniels.

Staff confronted him and after retrieving the goods, forcing the shoplifter to flee empty-handed on a bike.

Police officers want to question Durham over both incidents.

They also want to ask him about an act of criminal damage at the JobCentre in Gloucester Green.

At about 2pm on Thursday, September 1, Durham was at the JobCentre where he was told his claim for benefits was being closed. Later that day one of the centre’s light fittings on the stairs was smashed.

Pc Rachel Wood said: “Durham is white, about 6ft 3in tall, medium build, with brown eyes and short, straight, fair hair.

“Have you seen him in Cowley or the city centre? If you know him, or know where he might be hiding out this Christmas, contact police immediately.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact Pc Wood or Pc Paula Greenaway on 101, or call the Crimestoppers charity anonymously on 0800 555 111.

Badvent is already bringing in fresh leads for the police, with an arrest made within the first week of the campaign.

Ashley Appleby, of Sapphire Road, Blackbird Leys – our day five Badvent suspect – was arrested after an anonymous tip-off to the police on Monday.
