Sir – I wonder whether any readers can give some advice, to help prevent a massacre of crows. There is a stretch of country road, just outside Watlington, with trees overhanging the road. Unfortunately, crows choose to nest here each spring, and every year, they are knocked out of their nests, with their offspring, by high-sided vehicles.
They lie dead on the road beneath — this year I counted 30 in the space of only a few days. I’ve contacted many people about this — but to no avail.
I hope someone has some good ideas, as it won’t be long before they start the process of building their nests once again. It’s very sad.
Anne Hutcheson, Chalgrove
