GUNESH Sukriev’s arrest is a Christmas present that both Thames Valley Police and the courts are hoping for this year.

Police officers believe that the 19-year-old behind day six of our Badvent calendar is connected to a string of crimes across the city.

The Cowley teenager is the subject of a warrant issued by Oxford Magistrates’ Court on July 22 after he was charged with a public order offence over a fight at a fish and chip shop in London Road, Headington, on January 18.

Added to that are assaults, a robbery and a driving offence that detectives are keen to quiz the teen over. He’s also got questions to answer about the robbery of a 20-year-old man which happened at about 5.20pm on Saturday July 23.

The victim was walking along Stanley Road, Oxford, when he was approached by a young man who repeatedly asked him for money, before threatening him with violence, grabbing him and stealing his iPhone.

Police officers also believe that the 19-year-old could be connected to an assault on July 13 in which a woman in her 20s was left with injuries to her face and arm after being assaulted by a man in Headington.

Sukriev is also wanted in connection with a dangerous driving incident in Oxford on July 24.

Det Insp Paul Miller said: “We’ve had reports that Gunesh Sukriev was seen in Oxford in October. He is known to have strong links with the Oxford area, and also with Nuneaton, Warwickshire.

“Do you know where he might be hiding? I urge you to contact police.”
