THE level crossing in Bicester is being operated by hand after a signal failure in the early hours of this morning.
Problems with a track signal were reported at 3.30am and the barrier to the crossing in London Road was closed, blocking traffic.
A member of staff began operating the barrier manually to allow traffic to pass at 7am.
A Network Rail spokesman said it did not know how long it would take to fix the signal and resume the automatic barrier.
