RICHARD Harrison is dying from a rare degenerative disease.
But that will not get in the way of his charity mission.
Mr Harrison, who lives in Winterbrook Nursing Home, Cholsey, suffers from multiple system atrophy (MSA) which causes the nerves in his brain to waste away.
Since being diagnosed three years ago he has begun losing the use of his arms and legs.
On Sunday, he was pushed by more than 16 volunteers from Didcot to Cholsey to raise money for the MSA Trust.
Mr Harrison, 66, said: “I haven’t got long left.
“I want to raise as much money as I possibly can.”
He added: “We collected £200 just on the way and there will be more pennies by the time we’ve finished counting.”
Already this year Mr Harrison has managed to raise £4,000 for the trust, and he has already turned his attentions to the next charity challenge which he says will have an Easter theme.
