A LANDLORD'S agent has been given a suspended sentence after unlawfully evicting a tenant following ‘a long campaign of homophobic abuse’.
John Johnson-Bowler of Magdalen Road, Oxford, pleaded guilty to evicting a tenant from the property they shared in February.
Oxford Magistrates’ Court heard he changed the lock and dumped the man’s possessions on the pavement. As well as the six-week suspended sentence, Johnson-Bowler was given 60 hours’ community service and ordered to pay £500 costs and £100 compensation.
