HUNDREDS of youngsters from Oxfordshire descended on the Royal Albert Hall for their very own prom.

The 650 schoolchildren who brought the roof down were taking part in the Music for Youth Schools Prom.

Taking place over three days last week, the proms climaxed in a brand new piece which was premiered by Oxfordshire Youth Orchestra.

As well as the orchestra there was a huge choir of primary schoolchildren, a brass group and a cello group.

Tegan Partlett, nine, of Bayards Hill primary school in Barton, Oxford, was part of the huge choir of primary schoolchildren. She said: “The Royal Albert Hall is a very famous venue and it felt good to be performing there.”

The youngsters from Oxfordshire were all aged between four and 19.
