BEER drinkers descended on Wantage at the weekend for the town’s fourth annual real ale festival.
The two-day event at Wantage Civic Hall was organised by White Horse Campaign for Real Ale (Camra).
White Horse Camra chairman Neil Crook said about 625 people attended.
He said: “It was a resounding success. Out of 252 gallons of beer we only had seven gallons left. And 30 gallons of cider was drunk.”
Peter Fowler, landlord of the Shoulder of Mutton in Wallingford Street, said the town was becoming a popular destination for beer drinkers.
He said: “I was amazed how far some of those people had come. They had come from London, Birmingham and Bristol. And they were all saying how much they liked the beer offering here.”
About £170 was donated to the Poppy Appeal during the festival on Friday and Saturday.
