THE M40 southbound has been reopened after a three-vehicle crash.

The motorway southbound was shut for 10 hours between junctions 9 and 8A following the crash about 3am.

A diversion around the ringroad and out on the A40 was put in place to allow investigation work to be carried out.

Two people were taken to the John Radcliffe Hospital with serious injuries following the crash at 3.07am.

Seven other people were treated or assessed by paramedics at the scene but did not need hospital treatment.
