A charity group for new parents in Wantage is under threat due to a lack of volunteers.
The Wantage, Grove and Villages branch of the National Childbirth Trust could close unless it can find more members to help provide support for mums, dads and parents-to-be.
The group, which has 86 members and 14 volunteers, also organises social events for parents and their children.
But it needs to find volunteers to fill the main three positions of branch co-ordinator, membership co-ordinator and parent support co-ordinator. It is holding an emergency annual meeting on Thursday, November 24, at 8pm at Cornerstone, Savile Way, Grove.
Branch co-ordinator Bronwen Fitzwilliam said: “We need to fill three key roles to continue running as a branch but we need many more volunteers to continue doing the work in the community.”
Helen Harwood, who used to help produce the group’s newsletter, said: “If the branch did not have sufficient volunteers to run then eventually it would have to close.”
Anyone interested in volunteering should attend the meeting or email wantagenct@gmail.com.
