cker’s letter (November 3) regarding ‘troublesome trollies’. I think maybe he meant to write ‘troublesome ladies’?

With all due respect (albeit begrudgingly) R Tucker, I take great offence at your words so harshly and unjustifiably aimed at women.

Have you sat in every supermarket car park in the county and watched while all these ‘girls’ cause all this damage to cars?

I think it’s outrageous that you feel you can blame just women.

I’m pretty sure that men do their fair share of not returning trollies to the trolley park.

I feel your letter is at best patronising and sexist and at worst, it is attitudes like these that women have been fighting against for years and years.

Actually it is young men who cause more accidents on the roads than women but thank you kindly for letting us know that we are okay on the roads. What a comfort, I shall sleep so much better tonight.

PS: I am absolutely thrilled that for the last two days I have seen the council steam-cleaning the pavements on Cowley Road.

Three cheers. At last someone is taking notice. It is such a pleasure to walk on clean pavements, really good job!
