WITH reference to your story (Friday 28, Clampdown On Bikes With No Lights).
How convenient to tell cyclists the exact time and day the police will be targeting them next week.
These offenders should have their bikes seized, as car drivers without proper documentation do, and only returned on production of a complete set of lights and high- visibility jacket.
I regularly drive on the Cowley Road (which has a high police presence) and it amazes me that the bobbies turn a blind eye to the lightless and sometimes two-abreast riders. It is also about time that the law was changed to ban the wearing of headphones while riding a bike.
