A TEENAGE boy and his father were repeatedly stabbed by masked burglars when they confronted them in their home in the early hours of yesterday.

The knife-wielding thugs were disturbed by the victims’ wife and mum who screamed when she found two men, their faces covered, in the hallway of her home in Berinsfield When her 45-year-old husband and 17-year-old son rushed to her aid, a fight broke out and they were both stabbed repeatedly.

The teenager was knifed several times in his arms and torso. His father was left with knife wounds to the scalp and eyebrow and his 44-year-old mum was left bruised and swollen after being hit in the face.

The intruders got into the family home in Wey Road through a door before being disturbed at about 1.40am. They then fled empty-handed.

Police have been unable to find the knife or knives used in the attack.

The 17-year-old was taken to Oxford’s John Radcliffe Hospital, but was released yesterday afternoon after being treated.

A 15-year-old boy who was arrested on suspicion of aggravated burglary yesterday morning was later eliminated by detectives from their enquires and will face no further police action.

No other arrests have been made and officers are still hunting for two slim white men, one about 5ft 9ins tall, the other about 5ft 4ins tall.

They were both wearing dark clothing and scarves over their faces.

A woman living in the road, who asked not to be named, said: “It’s frightening that there are people in Berinsfield carrying weapons.

“Nobody seems to know anything and nobody helps anybody.”

Detective Chief Inspector Paul Hayles, who is leading the investigation into the burglary, said: “This was obviously a very frightening and violent attack on a family in their own home and a full investigation has been launched.

“I would like to reassure the residents of Berinsfield that a team of officers is working hard to catch the men responsible.”
