A FATHER and son have been stabbed during a break-in in Berinsfield.

At about 1.40am this morning, a 44-year-old woman discovered two burglars in the hall way of her house in Wey Road.

She screamed and her 45-year-old husband and 17-year-old son came downstairs.

A fight broke out between the householders and the men, and both the father and son were stabbed.

The father sustained a knife wound to his scalp and a cut to his eyebrow.

The 17-year-old son sustained stab wounds to his arms and torso and was taken to the John Radcliffe Hospital.

Police said the offenders are both white, one around 5ft 9ins, and one around 5ft 4 ins, and both are slim. They were both wearing dark clothing and scarves over their faces.

Det Ch Insp Paul Hayles said: “This was obviously a very frightening and violent attack on a family in their own home and a full investigation has been launched."

A 15-year-old boy has been arrested on suspicion of aggravated burglary and remains in police custody.

Anyone with any information about the burglary should contact Det Con Dave Edwards via the 24-hour Police Enquiry Centre on 08458 505505 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
