Cumnor went into this game wanting to vanquish the memory of their defeat in the cup last weekend. They started brightly with Nathan Spielhofer, who had missed the last game due to illness, crossing into the area after neat play on the wing, but no-one managed to get onto the ball. However, shortly afterwards it was 1:0 - Nathan lobbed a ball into the box from a short corner and after a bit of a goal scramble and a flurry of blue and red shirts, Jack Daly poked the ball over the line. Jack could have grabbed a hat-trick just after that - missing the goal by inches on two occasions after neat approach play first by Nathan and then by Lukas Ffrench. However, it was Nathan who grabbed the second - Louis Davies used his strength to muscle his way past a defender, crossed into the area and Nathan poked the ball with his right foot between the onrushing keeper's legs: 2:0. Goals 3 and 4 followed shortly afterwards - the first as a result of Jack Daly closing down a goal-kick and making up for his earlier misses with a neat finish. Louis Davies then scored an excellent individual goal - he won the ball himself from the kick-off in the centre, took the ball past three defenders and planted the ball neatly in the corner of the net to make the score 4:0 just before half-time.

The second half followed a similar pattern - after Nathan was upended just outside the area, he took matters in his own hand and curled a delicious free-kick into the top right corner of the goal. Cumnor continued to attack but to give AFC Brightwell their credit they did not give up and managed to create a few good chances themselves. However, on one occasion Samuel Down made a good save, while on the other occasion Ben Perkins came to the rescue making a last ditch challenge. On the other side, Lukas Ffrench continued to make a nuisance of himself and even though he did not score he was involved in a lot of the play - with the score at 5:0 he took a shot, which the goal-keeper did not manage to collect. Nathan slid in and managed to get the ball to Louis Davies who slotted the ball into the empty goal. Just after that Nathan Spielhofer completed his hat-trick with a neat finish after tidy approach play by Jack Daly.
