IN REFERENCE to Colin Smith’s letter about rubbish in the street (October 5).

I went to Cowley Retail Park this week and the approach road and multistorey car park is an utter disgrace – leaves ankle-deep, littered with rubbish everywhere. It needs a good clean up. After all, it’s a shopping area. I’m surprised the shops allow this to happen.

Mr Smith says everywhere needs a good clean; this also applies to Abingdon or parts of Abingdon.

Since Verdant took over, street cleaners have disappeared completely. The town centre is not too bad but south Abingdon is terrible all round the shops there’s a gated area that’s full of rubbish.
