Sir – Ian Scargill asks whether the Green Belt is properly protected around Oxford under the Government’s planning reforms (Letters, October 6). The Government’s draft National Planning Policy Framework makes it clear that “this framework sets out clearly what could make a proposed plan or development unsustainable”.
The inclusion of a chapter in the draft framework on the Green Belt which spells out Green protections confirms that development in the Green Belt will not be considered sustainable development.
